Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN) is a small amount of a medication that was originally used at higher doses to treat opioid or alcohol addiction. When used in low doses, it works differently – and is being explored in studies as an option for patients with chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, and inflammation.

How does it work?

LDN helps your body make more endorphins – the “feel-good” chemicals that help manage pain, mood, and the immune system. In patients with autoimmune conditions, LDN may help rebalance the immune response. LDN can also affect how strongly the body reacts to pain, making it potentially helpful for patients with chronic pain.
